Nautilus Standard
Timeless design
The Nautilus Std offers a wealth of options on which to base your dream guitar. Equally as elegant, stripped right down to just the essentials or spec’d up with beautiful figured woods. Alluring in its simplicity the Nautilus Standard delivers some beautifully refined tones and playability. While in many aspects paying respect to the historical golden era of set neck guitars, the Nautilus is an evolution of design. I set out to design to an honest and timeless range of guitars and I think the Nautilus delivers.
Breathes Life
The Nautilus was originally designed as a 25.5″ scale length instrument. I believe it really breathes life into the tone of the guitar.
It tightens up the bass response and gives the trebles more snap and sparkle, without sacrificing the sustain or richness you would want from a Single cutaway set neck guitar.
When I used to manage Manson’s guitar shop, I met a lot of guitar players over the years, who have found themselves in a similar situation as I found myself. Players who always lusted after a classic single cutaway guitar but just never gelled with the shorter scale, maybe you started playing on an “F” style instrument like me or it just feels a more natural scale length to you.
Powerful Tones
The Nautilus resonates with powerful single cut tones while retaining exceptional tonal clarity and note to note separation. The tone is noticeably well balanced across the fingerboard and allows the player and the instrument to effortlessly connect.
The sleek neck-to-body join and unique hand carved heel allow easy access right up to the top frets with no compromise in tone.
“This is a guitar you will get lost in”
“The detail and craft is wonderful. A finish like this would show any slight tool mark, but there aren’t any. The fingerboard edges are lightly rounded, the highly polished frets have virtually domed ends, the tangs are notched so you don’t see them. Can a top nut be a thing of beauty? Well, this one is superbly cut and shaped, not a sharp edge in sight. Look and learn.
The acoustic voice is vibrant with a quick attack and a bloom to the decay that’s what this design is all about. The whole structure is working very hard.” Dave Burrluck – Guitarist Magazine
Seth, my new Nautilus is a very very nice instrument with a lot of sustain……. A LOT!
Nice clear sound, rich of overtones, very comfortable to play.
So, I am very Happy! It is just the instrument I needed and I love it!
